Caspar Babypants and others at the Northwest Folklife Festival [Video]

It’s that time of the year again where we go visit the annual Northwest Folklife Festival at the Seattle Center. We attended the Monday festivities and spent most of our time listening to children’s musicians at one of the stages. We had the opportunity to catch Caspar Babypants, The Not-Its, and more.

The kids were very excited to come to the festival. In fact, next time we won’t tell Autumn where we are going until she is in the car. We told her the night before and, well, she was coming out of her room every five minutes saying “Babypants” because she truly loves Caspar Babypants’ music. After an hour or so of this nonsense she finally fell asleep.

Music. We love it. A lot! Our radio constantly pours music throughout every corner of our house. As a result we have two children who truly love to listen, watch, and dance to music. Whereas Autumn is just learning how to interact with it, Ethan loves to listen and dance around the house to his favorite songs. We thought we’d share a list of those songs that get their toes tappin’, feet stompin’, hands clappin’, and butt shakin’.

Ethan has been jamming on the drums since the tender age of 10 months old. He loves to grab his little drum sticks, sit on the drum throne, and pound the skins as any 3 year old does. Right? Here’s a little taste of his session from last weekend. I appreciate the intensity he portrays as he pounds on the drums, as well as the ability to sing/yell/whatever as he drums.
