Labor Day Weekend Activities

Labor Day Weekend Activities

What a week it was post and throughout Labor Day weekend. Laura, Ethan, and Autumn spent the week in McMinnville with her family. Laura connected with family and friends while Ethan had great experiences gardening, helping with the horses, playing outside a ton, visiting family, and riding his favorite his horse Norm with his Grandpa!

I spent the week in Maryland for training where I enjoyed a healthy dose of Waffle House biscuits and gravy, watched a DC United soccer match, and had a spectacular view of Mount Rainier on my airplane ride home.

20100906_0076_0Labor Day weekend was filled with indoor and outdoor activities. With the on/off again rain, we did a lot of boat and fort making with just about every blanket in the house that Ethan could reach. Each evening we put everything away and Ethan proceeded to make a new configuration of a boat/fort the next day. We did a bunch of yard work where Ethan was able to don full outdoor gardening regalia consisting of his John Deere hat and rain jacket, frog boots, and cozy rain pants. He’s so at home when he is able to trounce through the mud and rain.

20100906_0040_0We finished off the weekend with a great hike at Discovery Park in Seattle and a trip to Blue Highway Games in Queen Anne. We had a gift certificate from Seattle Child Magazine and purchased a couple of wonderful puzzles. We highly recommend this store if you are looking for enticing children puzzles and other creative games.

  1. Thanks Allison! Ethan loves to play dress up with his sister.

I love the firefighter photo! Autumn looks like she is drowning in that hat, but that’s what makes it so funny. 🙂
